My Story
I came to residential design through a lifelong interest in art, design, and how things are put together. At a young age, sewing taught me that every piece matters—and that separate pieces must work together to create something both useful and beautiful. I see homes the same way.
After earning my bachelor’s degree in Politics and Community Studies, I began drafting for my father, Richard Emigh, and learned residential design through hands-on experience. I taught myself computer drafting and built my practice one project at a time.
Today, with more than 25 years of experience, I help homeowners with custom homes, ADUs, remodels, additions, permit plans, zoning questions, and code-correction projects throughout Santa Cruz County and the greater Bay Area.
Every residential project is a unique puzzle. Good design brings together your goals, the existing home, the property, building codes, consultant information, budget, and practical construction needs. I work directly with you from the first ideas through permit submittal, keeping the process clear, personal, and grounded in what will truly work for your home and life.
